It's International Yoga Day today which may not seem at all relevant to us at Mane Chance but Gwen obviously thinks differently! We can only assume that this photo has caught her morning yoga routine. What shall we call this move? Downward pony?!

Hair loss in Hyperparathyroidism, a lesser known symptom of the disease. It's real and it's happening to me right now and worsening. The photos don't show the full extent, but thinning, breakage, texture changes and receeding hairline. My podcast covers this issue.

This is causing many issues in the medical world as many specialist won't accept a diagnosis of normocalcemic Hyperparathyroidism despite the growing evidence. This is leaving patients symptomatic, and at risk of further complications and irreversible damage.

You can also have high PTH with normal, low nor. Al. Or high normal. Calcium ranges, I know this as I am one such patient and this is in the absence of any secondaey causes such as low vit D or kidney disease.

High PTH (parathyroid hormone level) is equally if not more damaging to the body as high calcium is.

To accurately diagnose parathyroid disease/Hyperparathyroidism your GP, Endocrinologist or Surgeon needs to test your Vit D, Calcium and PTH to get an accurate overview, testing one without the other will not provide an accurate overview. I have this, this is how it was picked up
