We particularly invite interdisciplinary papers in which sex researchers collaborate with AI experts from fields such as computer science to deepen our understanding of the current state and potential future of sexuality in an increasingly AI-enabled digital age.

We also welcome papers that demonstrate how AI technology can advance the methodology of sex research (e.g., through computational analysis of big data).

Who is using (or not using) AI for sexual purposes in different social and societal contexts? Why, when, with whom, and how do people use AI? What are the self-perceived and/or objectively measured effects?

I was part of the @ISRA_Society New Investigator Program and 💙 the experience. I spent the week with a group of young investigators all studying aggression who were amazing. And had dinner with Barbara Krahé—who I am such a fan of!! 🤓 Thanks for this neat opportunity!

What can we do?! Well, we can do better prevention work and education with men when they are younger to address concerns with masculinity and alcohol use that could reduce ones likelihood to be aggressive.

So what’s it mean? Alcohol may facilitate our attention toward salient cues—such as a cue that threatens men masculinity. These threats may cause men to feel insecure and respond with aggression to address these feelings.

Oh my!! My second dissertation paper from @NIAAAnews is out! 🤩 We found that when men were intoxicated & informed they were less masculine than other men they were more likely to be sexually aggressive compared with men who were sober & also informed they were less masculine.

Pub alert 🎺 We found that 16% of Latino’s experienced sexual violence in their lifetime; however, when or how these experiences occurred is still not well understood. More efforts are needed to assess sexual violence among Latinos to inform prevention efforts.

One of my dissertation manuscripts funded by @NIAAAnews is out! 😍 In our brief report we found that heavy drinking and viewing masculinity as precarious were both related to sexual aggression independently, but did not have a combined effect. Wonder why?! Check out our paper!

Once you decide to act though? Alcohol may or may not reduce your ability to act or intervene. Alcohol may increase your confidence to intervene (liquid courage) but you might not intervene with the most effective strategies.
