Having said that I do appreciate the producers who put the craft first so when you stop using it as background music there's still a lot to appreciate. At least that's what I'm going for nowadays.

Lofi / Chillhop works well as background music bc it's often low on energy, mixed warm with not a lot of high frequencies which makes it easier to talk over. The absence of lyrics is nice for studying bc you don't wanna hear words when there's stuff going on in your head.
