@Truth_matters20
So your argument is “Actually, facts don’t matter because I believe in Sola Scriptura, a medieval heresy that was rejected by the apostles.” Scripture and history affirm the church of the Bible is the Catholic Church and that the Papacy is invalid. Cope.
@Truth_matters20
Ephesians 2:20 says the church Jesus built was an institution. Zero Christians for the first 500 years of the religion denied the primacy of St. Peter. You’re coping because neither scripture nor history support your argument.
@faithwillsaveu
Muslims and Protestants have the same view of scripture: that it’s a magic book we submit to, as opposed to what it actually is, a byproduct of the church.
@Truth_matters20
Jesus wants you to be a Catholic. Ephesians 5:25 calls the Catholic Church the Bride of Christ. What will Christ say when he learns you insulted his bride?
@masonmennenga
I’m perfectly happy if Calvinists find my reply. I make my objections to Calvinism clear. I also make clear the fact that changing something just because it fits a worldly view is a weak theological argument.
A majority of American Catholics believe the church should allow:
Birth control use
Priests to marry
Women to become priests
Recognition of LGBT marriages
@ThomasPolega
The church never changed its position on abortion. St. Barnabas condemned abortion in the 1st century, therefore it is an apostolic tradition.

“This man, while ironically playing Jesus in a show, denies that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone (Roman Catholic)” boy wait until this guy reads John 3:5.
@5Solas2
People who deny the 1st century church is Catholic deny history. St. Clement I literally said Peter was the foundation of the church and that a succession of leaders with the same authority arose form that.
@thehueman
@Truth_matters20
Ok, first and foremost.
1. No, Jesus and St. Paul don’t contradict each other. This is an age old myth.
2. Sola Scriptura is no where in scripture.
@smashbaals
The Septigiant, which the apostles preferred taught that we should pray in intercession to people who have passed. Genesis 3:15 teaches Mary was without sin.
@faithwillsaveu
“You know it, my brother;
hath not the venerable Council of Chalcedon conferred the honorary title of 'universal' upon the bishops of this Apostolic See [Romel, whereof I am, by God's will, the servant?” Pope St. Gregory I is affirming the Catholic position here.
@prot_zoomer
@bibeIradikaI
Jesus was still fully human. If Jesus stubbed his toe, he still would have felt pain. Clearly that not because of sin but because of a sinful world.
@faithwillsaveu
No, he affirms this is when it was dogmatized. He also affirms he accepts the Council as fact. Second, he was addressing the Bishops of Constantinople, saying they have no right to claim jurisdiction over one another. Then he affirms only he wields this authority.
Atheists: I’m glad I’m not like those stupid Christians who believe in fairy tales.
Also atheists: I’m going to ignore all the historical evidence that Jesus was real person.
@barbosa_8888
“idolisation of a man: the pope.”
Oh, you mean the man who the Orthodox Church accepted at the Supreme head of the institutional church for a thousand years?
1. Actually the Hebrew canon was debate for years. There was no set canon early on.
2. Jesus’ “forgive your enemies” line was from the Book of Sirach.
3. Suddenly Prots are using non-Christians as authoritative sources?
4. My point from 3 applies here.
@faithwillsaveu
Unintelligent meme. First, thank you for admitting the Bible opposes Sola Scriptura. I don’t claim the church is infallible “CUZ BOOK APPEARED OUT OF THE HEAVENS” I claim the church is infallible because the historical records, many of which were later adapted in the Bible say so
@5Solas2
Oh we’re supposed to take this literally? So does this mean Jesus and babies who die as infants have sinned? Also the Bible says all have died, yet we know Enoch and Elijah didn’t die in the Bible.
“Intercessory prayer is bad because you can go right to Jesus” is such a lame argument. “Going to your family and asking them to pray for you is bad because you can go right to Jesus”.
@Tokushogun
Ah yes, as well all know priests aren’t allowed to dance around when they’re off work. This has convinced me to reject an ecumenical council.
@ApologAnglicana
I respect the Orthodox Church but this position isn’t backed up by an sort of history. Pope St. Clement I, who is mentioned by St. Paul in the Bible and was appointed by St. Peter affirmed Peter was the rock of the church and that he was his successor.
@prot_zoomer
@bibeIradikaI
The Bible never says being spotless procures someone from pain or the symptoms of a fallen world. Your opinion is based on speculation.
@faithwillsaveu
Again, let’s read the full account. “And yet on this account there is no departure at all from the peace and unity of the Catholic Church.” In context, Firmilian is saying that Easter doesn’t go back to the apostles, but is not inconsistent with apostolic tradition.
We recite the Apostle’s Creed each week as a church. We’ve done it for years. It has served to catechize our folks in these core doctrines of the faith.
