This is what is wrong with the SEO industry, yesterday:
Potential client: So we want to start SEO and double the number of leads we are getting in 3 months.
Me: That's very unlikely to happen.
Potential client: I've had 2 quotes from SEO agencies already
@thetafferboy
that would depend on their starting point; if they already have traffic, doubling leads very achievable but dependent on agency skillset.
@Stevenvvessum
They were really nice, so I flat out told them it wouldn't work. I explained how you could potentially see ranking moves but it wouldn't necessarily equate to traffic/conversions in that time.
If this is their target, I would recommend using paid in the short-term.
@tomshark
Why is the customer wrong? All they said is they want to double their leads in 3 months. Nothing wrong with that as a target.
It's the SEO agencies that are to blame here imo.
@thetafferboy
I've been told that I talk myself out of work on numerous occasions.
I'm just giving them the most likely scenario based on what's achievable with their budget and resource 🤷♂️
@thetafferboy
I won't blame clients but the whole SEO eco-system where the majority of SEO agencies are so dishonest that they can promise anything to win a customer.
