I want to talk about what it’s like to claw yourself out from the depths of hell of an eating disorder relapse and become fat again, only to be told by family and medical providers that it seems like you’ve now “went to the other extreme.”.

Instead of “I’m fat but my blood work shows that i’m healthy,” how about, “My health status is not relevant to my worth.”.

I just found out that one such brand literally doesn't even make those "bigger" sizes and just always has it show up as sold out. It doesn't surprise me but it sure as hell makes me sick to my stomach. We just want cute clothes that fit and no one will take our money.

Have you ever felt suspicious about the brands that don't even do the bare minimum with inclusive sizing, but call themselves inclusive, and somehow their XL and XXL are always sold out?.

Lol this is such a reductionist and archaic way of thinking.

Most "eating disorders" aren't disorders. They're attempts at controlling the body after a childhood of betrayal, violation, and chaos. If your body was never your own, binging or restricting is survival mechanism.

Happy Pride to those of you who aren’t feeling proud because our world has taught you to feel wrong for being who you are. I want you to know that whether you’re out or not, you have nothing to be ashamed of. It’s the people w bigoted views that should be ashamed of themselves.

Now that body positivity is no longer cool or trending, those size additions have disappeared almost as fast as they originally appeared in the first place. So if you’re fat in 2024, your options are even more abysmal. 😢.

I miss the time when #bodypositivity was a marketing trend. Because at least brands were pretending to make an effort toward being inclusive and I could find a couple options at mainstream retailers.

Does anyone else experience every single medical procedure that’s in network to suddenly be out of network because some random doctor or technician isn’t in network?. How do you handle this? Every last penny of my money has been going to medical bills.

I wish people spent more energy being upset at our healthcare system and predatory insurance companies and less on individual therapists.

Many of us don’t take insurance bec insurance makes our lives a living hell, do not pay a living wage, often delay paying, even asking for money BACK years later for a tiny paperwork “error.” . I don’t have capacity to be on the phone w insurance for hours each week begging for $.

Sometimes it’s hard to be the brunt of anger regarding the inaccessibility of mental health care. I’m a therapist & I can’t access therapy either because I can’t afford it. I understand!.

It’s wild that the assumption is that all fat people are liars and obviously underreported their eating. It’s sickening and infantilizing actually.

Bodies are not invincible & do get impacted by ED’s, even when we don’t think we see it right away. I have a good amount of recovery time behind me & for that I am so grateful. But it wasn’t enough to regulate my GI track and I’m really sitting in the sadness right now.

As a teen and even in my 20’s, I felt invincible re my body not being impacted by my ED. And when things were bad, I also didn’t care what could happen because I was suffering so much. But I do care now. I care a lot.

Yesterday, I had a gastroparesis test done and it confirmed what I suspected — I have gastroparesis. Even though I’ve been having pretty awful gastro issues for close to 2 years, there’s something about seeing it confirmed that brings up a lot of grief.

We deserve so much more than a lifetime spending our money, time, & energy trying to shrink our bodies. Fat people will always exist. There is no miracle that will suddenly eradicate fatness. I hope to live in a world where people in all bodies are treated w safety & dignity.

Remember the miracle diet drug Belviq? Pulled off the shelves due to cancer risk. Fen-phen? Heart disease. Keto, Weight Watchers, low fat, Atkins, Paleo, and now the latest, GLP-1s.

The latest finding on intermittent fasting being associated with a 91% higher risk of death from heart disease has me feeling disgusted by the diet/wellness industry. Because we’ve been here countless times.
