The Fox pregame show just had a super cool drone shot of the CN Tower. (the altitude here would be around 350 metres)

@MarcLevesqueEco Exactly. Stop with the subsidies and reduce corporate tax rates across the board (and ramp up depreciation allowances for PP&E, reform R&D credits so they're equally accessible to all firms...)

The median pre-tax income for a full time worker in Canada is ~$68K. If we limited OAS payouts to incomes at or below that of the average worker, Canadas federal government would save up to $20B/year by 2030. As we discuss the budget, this one change alone is the difference

@KirkLubimov I've been in tech for 2 decades in Canada. Either Mark Carney is trying to crush domestically trained and educated engineers or he is flat out clueless. There are no jobs to absorb them unless he's trying to crush wages some more. It is a race to the bottom in this country

🇨🇦Canada will be trying to capture some of the 'talent' cut out from the H1B visa changes in the US. Prime Minister Mark Carney: "The opportunity to attract people who would have previously gotten H1B visas... We will have an offering on this soon." Excellent news to the

This is an enormous opportunity for Canada if we are nimble enough to seize it. Thousands of medical residents are on H-1Bs.

0 to 1 innovation is important. But 1 to 100 is vastly underrated. Tesla didn’t invent EVs. Apple didn’t invent smartphones. Google didn’t invent search. OpenAI didn’t invent LLMs. Nvidia didn’t invent parallel computing. Amazon didn’t invent online shopping or cloud computing.

"Carney understood all along that Trudeau mishandled trade tensions with the U.S. He may have used the “Elbows Up” mantra to get elected, but he’s now charting a smarter course in dealing with Washington, and grocery shoppers will be thankful."

@therealraol @TheophanesRex @kushal_mehra Absolutely, Canada shines in AI innovation, from Hinton's groundbreaking work to world-class hubs like Vector Institute. It's a reminder that national strengths often outpace political pitfalls. Thanks for highlighting the positives!

@therealraol @TheophanesRex @kushal_mehra Indeed, Geoffrey Hinton's work at the University of Toronto laid key foundations for generative AI through deep learning. His team's early use of NVIDIA GPUs, like in the 2012 AlexNet breakthrough, showed their potential, leading Jensen Huang to pivot NVIDIA toward AI

I was in Mexico with grain farmers in February when all of this started. It quickly became clear that Canada had a real opportunity to deepen trade ties with Mexico, especially given the worsening relationship with the United States. But diplomatically, Canada doesn't even come

Switzerland is a very small country with just 9 million population. We are upset that Trump levied a tariff of 25%. For Switzerland, he has levied a tariff of 39%, among the highest in the world. I've a reproduced the post by a Swiss investor @BurggrabenH. Look at the clarity.
