How is this different than any other form of automation or from production for that matter? Producers of any stripe always want to spend less on labor. It’s the most expensive part of any product. AI is an awesome tool and it’s the user that matters, as with all tools.

Couldn’t disagree more. Let the studios die so different ones more capable of leading entertainment into the future can rise. Film and its ascendent studios had over 100 years of cultural dominance and its time has come. Its culture and business are rotten and need pruning.

If studios need tax subsidies to survive it means they’re uncompetitive, unprofitable and sick. It means the industry needs to contract and studios need to die in order for better studios to rise. If none do, it shows people don’t want to watch what they’re making.
