Thus, while tele-ED increases access to specialized sepsis care, it may not address disparities due to its less frequent use in vulnerable communities. Interventions to boost tele-ED use may help, especially in systems without a substantial focus on sepsis quality of care.

Three main findings emerged:. 1. Providers in counties with a high SVI were less likely to use tele-ED. 2. This effect was driven by housing/transportation vulnerability. 3. Providers who were less experienced in sepsis care were more likely to activate tele-ED.
