My latest demo is a route planner for electric heavy goods vehicles. You give it the waypoints; it picks chargers considering price, cost of detour, driver billable hours and EU driving regulations. Very simple!

Technology seems deflationary because the same goods are produced cheaper. But it’s an illusion; they’re not the same goods. For example, in the 70s, Soylent Green was people. It’s cheaper now but what have we lost?

Libraries are a labor-saving. AI _replaces_ libraries as a kind of successor. All else equal, you would prefer: * the code is in your code base * the only user is you * it conforms to your needs * you don’t need to coordinate with strangers

AI usurps human functions, which then become both dead and scarce. Before ChatGPT, every text emission had some person’s style and voice. Prompters abdicate style, in favor of ChatGPT’s. Voice and authenticity is in some way dead. It is also scarce.

There are two problems with a robot tax. 1. All automations are covered under the tax on corporate profit. 2. No automations are done with robots. We’re drowning in automations so abstract and lateral, you cannot see them. You won’t accept them.
Why would corporations like Amazon replace workers with robots? Pretty simple. Robots don’t need a wage, health care, time off, sick leave, Social Security, Medicare or unemployment benefits. Maybe it’s time to tax robots & use the revenue generated to help working families.

Gave Nth freelancer a shot. Everything seemed alright. After a week, I get a PR with agent-slop, random out-of-scope changes and even his local paths hard-coded. Constantly disappointed by the lack of professionalism in software now.
