made funnier by the fact that, y'know, NES games are completely obscured by the console when actually in play, so you couldn't even read this while actually playing the game if you wanted to! you could with a toploader model of NES but those wouldn't come out for a few years.

NES game spotlight: Shingen the Ruler (1989) has cartridge art with a glossary of sorts outlining various terms in-game that almost entirely obscure any actual art on the label. and yes, it came with a manual, they just decided to do it like this for some reason.

in this economy I know it's probably not the best time to be making this point but I do think it's kind of an issue. if we value our hobbies in this capitalist hellscape we live in we should be willing to compensate those who make it possible!

humble bundle too, as cool as it used to be, hallowed by thy name, definitely contributed to this culture of digital hoarding and I've been trying to wean myself back onto buying games when I actually want them and not when their prices drop to $3.

I can't find the source on this but I seem to remember hearing the average value of indie games in particular is like, less than a dollar thanks to how much of a precedent there is for them to be free, or maybe 1 or 2 bucks, and a lot of that I do blame indirectly on steam sales!

lot of people dunking on this wojak but as a guy who is this wojak I approve of the creation of this wojak. we should all feel kinda bad for how cheap we are when we hoard sale games and don't play a majority of them. I'm certainly guilty of this

am I missing something or is the ability to disable replies to a tweet purely in favor of trolls trying to gain exposure and nothing else

James Gunn says he almost cut the scene of Superman saving a squirrel from the film because test screening audiences didn’t like it: “They’re like, ‘Why the fuck is he saving a squirrel? Why is he taking time out, saving a squirrel?” https://t.co/VlVpCK0uoC

I cant believe Im saying this but I think the new kirby air ride just fully replaces the original. barring some relatively small aesthetic stuff I prefer about the original (menus, some of the music) I honestly see little to no reason to ever play it again over the new one

Funniest thing about Game Awards discourse is that everyone has to silently agree that it’s okay to participate in the arguments around it even if they haven’t played every game in the running
