Happy Birthday, Dread! 🎉🦕 10 years ago today, Dr. Kenneth Lacovara uncovered his most epic paleontological discovery Dreadnoughtus schrani in Patagonia, Argentina. Name meaning, “fears nothing”, this titanosaurian sauropod is estimated to have been roughly 85 feet long!

Our fossil bed has yielded more than 100,000 fossils representing over 100 species of marine and land animals. Our quarry dig allows visitors to get their hands dirty and find fossils themselves. We look forward to welcoming you in the museum and our quarry later this year. 🦖

A Cretaceous Halloween story. An Earth era ago a tyrannosaur died on the east coast of North America. Swept out beyond the surf, its body was colonized by a multitude of flesh eating bacteria, which churned through its tissues, filling its decaying carcass with gas.
