When asked about a pastor’s role on politics, John MacArthur said, "If you are a preacher of Jesus Christ and you are a pastor, you should be known for speaking the gospel and nothing else.” Is this true? Should pastors speak on political issues?

People have been doing a lot more than insulting Christians since the beginning. It’s pretty recent that murdering us isn’t commonplace (in the West at least). We can handle lame insults.

The thing is, when it comes to religious insults, every denomination can play that game. If you call my Gods “demons”, I can call yours a “middle eastern Jewish corpse”. But I prefer to maintain some dignity in this discussion.
