Worth noting that this is, of course, another almighty mess that leads directly to Boris Johnson and his utter unfitness for office. It’s impossible not to see his elevation of the obviously unsuitable Richard Sharp to BBC chairman as his reward for facilitating an enormous loan.

Richard Sharp, the Chair of the BBC should step down. There’s no confidence in him. He should have stepped down already, but he selfishly put his own interests above rescuing the BBC’s plummeting reputation. Now he’s dragged it down even further. He’s got to go.
