According to @abolapt Arsenal are on the verge of withdrawing from the race to sign Viktor Gyokeres due to Sporting's financial demands. Doesn't sound legit to me though.

We are not just spending too much on a bang average footballer, we could also have easily got a better player for the same amount. Adeyemi for instance is an option for the same amount. I will support him in our colours but this is certainly not a signing I want.
Madueke will be a shrewd signing if it happens. On the expensive side but bags of talent & provides proper cover for both wings. The challenge is the timing - with more pressing needs at CF & in the creative department, it doesn’t feel like the right priority. But time will tell.

Signing Noni Madueke will divide the fan base. The number of those who don't want him is more than those who want him and right now so. But signing Eberechi Eze is one signing virtually all of our fan base can get behind. Hopefully they make it happen.
