Take out the romance and the story still exists and is not shaken at all. It’s a FANTASY with a romantic SUBPLOT, and you’re lying about the actual plot to fit your narrative? I’ve seen with my eyes, I’ve heard with my ears, and I know which animal quacks.

I don’t engage with lbc discourse cause the way people talk about Tracy, the story and Nick and Sel being white comes across as projection and as a Jamaican who grew up in Jamaica around Jamaican people, I know when I’ve lost a battle with Black folks who hate themselves.

No one loves mess as much as I do, but let’s not misrepresent now 😭😭 Sel is such a well written character, and things like this just take away from the growth he’s displayed. He was going to murder Bree and he would’ve been right to do so based on the info he had!!
Sel wasn’t really trying to “kill” Bree, he was trying to scare her bc he thought she was goruchal. Also, Sel only mesmered her in book 2 bc he knew she’d make a big deal out of his condition, which would take the attention away from finding Nick.
