I’d like to be proud of the uni from which I earned my PhD, & for which I’ve taught the max load allowed by CIs since 2002. But my poverty-level pay of less than 30,000/year & precarious employment & yet another strike makes it’s hard to feel pride rn. Solidarity w #cupe2424.

I’d like to see more conservative involvement in labour issues, but until then we have to work with the protections we have. It may not ease your discomfort with the strike, but I thought I’d mention it for what it’s worth.

How can I have confidence in the value of my degree to employers, if Carleton takes its own staff for granted?
