Not a grade, but after having shipped two indy games without any financial success, no money in the bank, living in a foreclosed home, and moments away from giving up on game dev altogether, I got an email back for a job at Oculus, allowing me to find my true passion in tech art.
Not a bad grade per se, but I remember failing to get picked for an extra-curricular art course at middle school(!) and believing I wasn't good enough to be an artist because of that. I didn't pursue art as a career until my early 20s due to that insecurity.
