@HaleDonal It was a bit of a lightbulb moment - I decided I'd be hard pressed to find any literary text which didn't deal with power in some way. Would absolutely love to support with one! 🤩

@thecockerill Anthony! You've no idea how absolutely instrumental your work for NATE was on this for me. It showed me the art of the possible, and gave me the confidence to take the plunge. Thank you so much for it, and thank you for reading mine!!

@teachals @Diane_Duncan Thank you @teachals for sharing your thinking. Curriculum design in English is a wonderful thing and I never tire of discussing it. I'm currently on my third school as HoD and the journey of shaping each curriculum has been a joy.

@teachals Brilliant read. Really interesting and also similar to how we’ve approached curriculum design for our texts at primary.

@theliteracytree Thank you so much for reading! There’s definitely more to exploit in the relationships between primary and secondary curriculum design, isn’t there?

@teachals A really brilliant read. I would love to know more about your strategies for teaching all of these whole texts. Finding that balance of breadth and depth is so tricky.

@MissEWhittaker Thank you so much for reading, Emma! Yes this is something we really grapple with - that balance is tricky. We haven’t got it right in absolutely every unit yet. Maybe I’ll write some more on the pedagogical approaches to planning which came next?
