So please move it to the top of your "to do list" and get everyone in your family to do them. It's an insurance policy that you only have to do once, but if you wait until you need it (like with all insurance policies) it's too late to get one Do it here https://t.co/EK5OIxD3Qs

But for now, I wish you all a very merry Christmas, happy holidays, A fabulous New year and particularly to those working this season: I hope it is tear and trauma free and you leave and arrive feeling loved and appreciated. 6/6

For some, especially victims of domestic abuse, Christmas, with people having leave at home, can be very difficult & dangerous. To those I know personally: know you can always send me a text and I'll help. If need be set up a code with me. 5/6

We often see people at Christmas that we don't see for the rest of the year. People are regularly at their loneliest on the hottest days of the year. Think about this & make plans to either see or pick up the phone to people a couple of times before next Christmas. 4/6

Getting out & socialising is important but also helping others in their time of need is essential. Laughing & smiling improves your health. Loving & being loved is needed for well-being. A hug can often be the best medication. 3/6

These don't have to be family & the surest way to get this network is to care for other people. Being part of a religious group (any) has been shown to prolong life. 2/6

A London A&E department celebrating the very rare event of not having patients on trolleys in a f***ing corridor. Thatβs what 14yrs of the Tories has done to the NHS. Itβs going to be a long journey back, but I hope itβs starting soonβ¦
Apparently this was in Northwick Parkβs ED β¦@LNWH_NHSβ© this morning. No patients in the Escalation Space. Happy Christmas to my colleagues!

I for one, don't want to work in American system. Please fight for your NHS. It is still by far the best way of providing healthcare. 8/8

Remember that money often doesn't make things better & that if you do decide to sue the NHS it comes directly out of patient care fundsβ¦. There isn't a separate pot of gold waiting to be claimed.7/8

However this is the case for the staff everyday & the moral trauma & PTSD that staff are suffering is very real. They go in everyday despite not being able to do what they want to, & what they signed up to do, for patients. 6/8

I know that for many their recent experience of the NHS, particularly emergency departments, has been traumatic & harrowing. 5/8

Most staff just want to do the right thing for their patients but very rarely get a thank you when they go above & beyond. You don't need to send elaborate gifts, a simple thank you note will make a huge personal difference & will form part of the individual's appraisal. 4/8

In order to recover from one basic complaint & regain confidence someone needs to receive a huge number of compliments (I need at least 20!). If you have received good care please compliment & thank the staff, write a quick note or email saying so. 3/8
