This is insane and scary. Big Brother will now be installed in our cellphones.
Sanchar Sathi app: It’s the operators who receive and transmit the signals- information, conversation etc. They can be forced by the government to give them the information they need. Given this background, the delete & dismantle option doesn’t make any sense. 🇮🇳 is a democracy

The way I met Tom Stoppard was unforgettable – over twenty years ago: a producer wanted to make a movie of one of my earlier books, Stalin: the Court of the Red Tsar and he said he wanted me to meet the script writer. I was already wildly overexcited because the producer was Mick

From a distance our beloved Bharat Mata does not look so good.

Time to forget about building temples and giant statues of dead leaders, and concentrate on building cities that don’t look like slums.

Tom Stoppard was my favourite playwright. He leaves us with a majestic body of intellectual and amusing work. I will always miss him.

I am trying to help a mother whose child is being taken away. I know her because I used to run a program for street children called Nashta and helped her daughters and other girls get off the street. Do you need more details?
@tavleen_singh Seems Tavleen is writing with pride that she knows a pavement dweller since birth? Could you have helped change life of this woman for better, one life. Giving wisdom to others is good but taking that wisdom as lesson for self is better. Do something.

Mumbai’s homeless people are being arrested for being homeless. Is there no more humane way of dealing with this problem. #pmoindia #chiefministermaharashtra

A Mumbai pavement dweller I know has been arrested for living on a pavement on which she was born and bred. The Marine Lines police want to keep her in custody and take away her three year old. Where are the shelters for people like her?#cmmaharashtra

Thank you. Appreciation from you is much appreciated.
Thought provoking Sunday Column by @tavleen_singh in @IndianExpress yesterday. If decolonisation is the aim, then why preserve colonial relics and have unelected Governors living in mansions with nothing to do. Why have a relic of the Raj - the Collector in district - which is

https://t.co/dRzLlp9bOG

The Prime Minister wants us to shake off our ‘colonial mindset’ in the next ten years. As long as we have colonial governance how is this even possible. My column today.
financialexpress.com
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi denounces Macaulay’s colonial education system, this column argues that the colonial mindset persists deeply in Indian governance and society.

I was quoting Menaka Gandhi. She is an animal rights activist. So I went with what she said. But, killing stray dogs by shoving them into crowded shelters is a very bad idea anyway.
@DwellingDeep_ @tavleen_singh Grok says there is no evidence of mass culling of dogs in surat around Plague time. Also as a resident of Surat I never heard of this ever.

Please someone up there listen to Maneka Gandhi. She points out that in Surat they killed all the dogs and cats and ended up with bubonic plague. It is dogs and cats that keep rats in control.
