We should all start spending more of our online time in privately owned communities instead of on social media platforms. This is my ongoing list of reasons to do this.

In a forever struggle with my 2 personalities:. Hustle bro who wakes up at 5am, lifts, and works for 12 hours on building a $100M company. and. Grandma who sleeps in, makes elaborate weekday lunches, and spends hours at the park looking at birds. Makes it hard to plan the week!.

Reminds me of the "job, career, calling" research that says that in virtually any given job people break down evenly in the way they approach work. Don't think it maps neatly to my 3 buckets, but again, the 'calling' people are having the best time.

From watching NBA this year, I think there are 3 flavors of motivation:. 1. Legacy — "I want people to love me".2. Money — "This is my job".3. Craft — "Winning means I get to keep playing". I resonate with the 3s, they seem to have the most fun. But 1s and 2s win just as often.

I'm really looking forward to spending summer nerding out on new fun projects and seeing what comes of it.

I've started to understand the value (and joy!) of taking my time to build something that lasts beyond its first draft. Involves lots of revisions, dead ends, and mini existential crises. and it's fun!.

It's interesting because I tend to encounter lots of people who have the opposite problem of overthinking before shipping a new thing.

Instead of my usual mode of rushing to implement ASAP, I've been giving new ideas and projects more time and space to breathe lately. It's feeling good!.

A format example I think is cool is how @justinmooretfam has creators debate each other on a topic.

I think I eventually want to start a YouTube channel about how to make friends and find community. I'd love some inspiration on how to do it in a cool way. Any channels with unique formats come to mind? Can be any topic or size. Weirder the better.

Just finished Rest is Resistance, which falls into this category. As does adrienne maree brown's and @visakanv's work. I feel like I have a super clear sense of the world they're trying to build.

I love books that are purposefully a little messy. I find it more engaging when authors don't polish away all the heart from what they're trying to say.
