@RolandForTexas You are a taker, not a maker. All you’ve done your whole life is take from the makers of the world. The zero-sum mindset you have is at the root of so much evil. Once you realize that civilization is not zero-sum and that it is about making far more than one consumes, then it

My article in the @IndianExpress: On @PrashantKishor and the politics of dare... After all, we make ourselves according to the ideas we have of our possibilities. Theodore Roosevelt once observed that credit belongs not to the critic who points out how the strong man stumbles,

One thing I do differently/more than basically everyone I've ever worked with is to make every single task & subtask an opportunity to learn something new or make something kinda cool. That's a cool thing about computers. You can do the work, or build a thing to make them do it

I have a new blog post about the so-called “tokenizer-free” approach to language modeling and why it’s not tokenizer-free at all. I also talk about why people hate tokenizers so much!

We need more words for how people relate to different ideas about future possibilities. Because “belief/disbelief” doesn’t begin to cover it. Probability tries to reduce to a number what is reality a vast spectrum of differently structured attitudes.
