In a remarkable Tapology first, a fighter is trying to remove a loss from their record by amateurishly photoshopping a random guy's head onto the original fight poster, and sending it to us as proof that he wasn't in the fight.

Today we released a significant update to the layout of "event" pages at Tapology. These are critical pages for a lot of people, and any big modifications to them could cause a lot of frustration. But for many reasons it was time for a redesign. Here are some of the updates...

Awesome vid! But no chance we can enter that as 1 second. That would be the fastest MMA KO of all time. It was 3.5 seconds by our stopwatch from ref signalling fight start to ref getting in between to end it. So we've entered it as 3.

A few weeks ago we rolled out an updated design to the event pages on Tapology. One of the most frequent pieces of feedback we got was some users wanted to keep the fight card smaller so that more of it was in view at once. Today we've rolled out a toggle with 3 view modes.

Of Sanjar's past 6 wins, we have definitively found he was involved in stealing the identities of quality, inactive fighters so that his record would appear more impressive. When in fact he was beating up on anonymous tomato cans.

First and foremost was the design for people on their phones. The old design was almost impossible to use. The new design attempts to keep almost all the info you could find on the old design, but make it actually readable and usable on your phone.

A sad day today to learn that our friend Fabio Mussetta passed away. He had just started contributing to Tapology recently and we were thrilled to have him with us to keep track of MMA in Italy and beyond. May he rest in peace.
I've just learned that my good friend Fabio, has passed away some days ago.
He wasn't answering our texts in these past few days, and now I know why.
He took my place at Tapology since I stopped. We founded an Italian MMA outlet together. He was only 31.

We did not previously have a photo of Kislica and we were not on the lookout for this kind of deception. Once the fake photo was posted to Kislica's page, Sanjar's team then passed the page on to the WEF promotion so that the fake Kislica could be signed to fight Sanjar.

With a finish in tonight's Bellator main event, it will represent the first Bellator card since Bellator 168 in 2016 to not have a single fight go to decision. That event in Italy only had 5 fights. The only other Bellator with all finishes was Bellator 36 in 2011 (7 fights).

Mixed events like One FC can start to look pretty wild with all the sports they have. Hovering each bout will show the sport if you are ever confused, or you can expand the bout details and see it listed there too.

The fighters raised their arms and flexed as the cage announcer called out their names, accomplishments, and nationalities. It was all BS. These were not the Kyrgyzstan fighters at all. We went and found all the obscure footage of their previous fights and compared it.

This PFC event in Andijan Uzbekistan was reported to us and, as part of our normal process for looking at new leagues, we reviewed video footage of the whole thing. At first pass everything seemed fine enough so it was added to Tapology.

But as we investigated Sanjar Azhibaev, everything about this event started to unravel. We found 5 clear examples of hijacked identities. Fighters from Kyrgyzstan with existing MMA records were announced by the cage announcer and came into the cage to fight.

Putting out an open invitation to anyone who thinks they might be able to help us understand what is going on with Afghanistan MMA. Lots of seemingly real fight footage being sent to us, but we cannot validate when or where it was filmed. Does government even allow combat sports?

The only modern-era UFC to have a full slate of fights all have finishes was UFC Fight Night 55 with 11 fights in November 2014. Luke Rockhold guillotined Michael Bisping in the main event.

Toggling a second time brings up the super compact view with no photos and just the key details of the fight card. And then if you toggle again you'll be back to the default view. We hope this helps!

Anyone is free to make their own database. Typically we just use the "cage announced" fight time. But when a special need arises to take a close look, we have no problem pulling out a stopwatch and getting something factually correct, rather than being plainly wrong.

A note on the Paul Craig vs Jamahal Hill result entry on Tapology. Upon initial viewing our evaluation was a Submission finish despite being announced as TKO during the UFC broadcast. However, after multiple viewings of the finish sequence we have updated the result to a TKO.
