We didn’t have a reservation but we dropped-in for the noon swim at Kits Pool. On a holiday Monday no one was turned away, it’s actually only happened once this year. Anyway, it was $16 for two of us, the modest lines (there are 3) moved quick + everyone was happy. 😊 #VanPoli

After 2 hours and 50 speakers, ABC's Sarah Kirby Yung moved an amendment to completely get rid of all the thoughtful resolutions created by the Arts & Culture Advisory Committee, and replace them with an entirely new motion that speakers and advocates have had no input on. Shame!.

We have other pools in the city, New Brighton has lots of room to swim today! .The reservation system at all our pools works well for many people. Unless of course you want to walk to Kits Pool + park your towel there for six hours. 🙄 .#vanpoli

Mayor Sim says the Kits Pool booking system limits access but it actually improves it. ✅ Guaranteed entry (no lines).✅ 80% online booking, 20% drop-in.✅ Pass holders + equity access included.It’s not complex, it’s inclusive. Families, disabled people + seniors benefit most.
Kits Pool should be open and accessible to everyone, all the time - no complicated booking system, no barriers. What made sense during the pandemic doesn’t anymore. It's time to bring back easy, drop-in access for all. I have sent a letter to all Park Board commissioners

@tamarataggart In fairness, Ravi Parmar and his staff may have tried to advocate for Charleigh “in confidence” with Josie Osborne / the Ministry of Health. Like everyone else, he would have faced a stony wall of arrogance, disdain and “we know best” superiority until Osborne’s hand was forced.
