(1971) by denny o'neil, bobby brown & dick giordano — her introduction and the foundation for what would be a long lasting character with great importance to the bat-mythos
it's so important that jurnee was able to communicate with margot and other producers and tell them that she needed a black woman in the hair department to build dinah's look and they not only listened but brought in the stylist she wanted
you can not make this up... a character whose origin is tied to the fact that he is a BLACK brazilian being whitewashed simply because the director didn’t care about racism in brazil and wanted someone who “looks rich” for the role
can these webtoons leave talia tf alone? lol i get filled with rage when i'm reminded they babyfied every single character in wfa but she had to be an awful abuser for some reason
“It’s important that Batman has at least a 15 year age gap with Nightwing how else would we buy he’s his father?”
“Why does it matter that Superman is 15 years younger than Batman?”

ivan the terrible and his son ivan on 16 november 1581 by ilya repin (1885) // robin and batman by ivan reis, danny miki & brad anderson for one bad day: ra's al ghul (2023)
this being yet another example of a dc asian woman being portrayed as a seductress unaware about the concept of consent but people will swear it's not a trope by now
the scene where they have gal gadot saving arab kids from a missile is especially vile when you consider that after something similar happened in real life, and ended in tragedy, she posted about how she loves the idf and was praying for israelis instead
it’s being more and more clear that wonder woman 1984 directed and written by patty jenkins w/ gal gadot as lead and executive producer was just anti arab movie meant to give a message about arabs and hamas, specifically palestinians. i wonder why it wasn’t set in present days...
so when are we going to talk about how comic stans hold onto this type of storylines for dear life as if they were done responsibly instead of just writers being weirdos?
oh look for asian heritage month dc comics is putting out a damian wayne solo where his asian family is demonized while his white family is celebrated! how unique and progressive!!
the contrast in designs is so unsettling i don't even have words the al ghuls are straight up caricatures while the batfam look like actual people... this goes beyond a simple creative choice
someone needs to design an original suit for talia in comics QUICKLY like if they wanted to give her a bigger push creating a distinct design should've been one of the priorities from the get go.
this made some numbers and since there's people asking here's the interview where jurnee talks about margot robbie being an ally as both a producer and a co-star
still can't believe people got mad when this was brought up the moment the issue dropped as if it was unfair to the artist to point it out the obvious ai usage lol
Now that I’ve read all the issues of Batman that
@And_Sorrentino
contributed to, I feel like there’s a pretty strong case that AI Art is being used. I’d love to be wrong about this, especially as the run has been so great, but it’s hard to avoid. I’ll explain in this thread:
