People out here acting like him becoming a Templar was an act purely out of spite and hatred like he doesn't have NUMEROUS lines of dialogue showing that he stands by Hawke against templars hunting them down despite not being a mage himself

No because actually what is Carver supposed to do if left in Kirkwall while Hawke goes to the deep roads. He needs to make a living to take care of his mother, Aveline won't let him join the guard, no one in Kirkwall wants to hire Fereldens. GENUINELY what else is he to do
