Deterrence has become the centrepiece of Australian strategic thinking, but its value has become more political than strategic. The focus on deterrence has advantages in terms of messaging, but this...

Brilliant video and rundown on the latest Korean Aegis DDG which has the same lightship displacement as the also Aegis equiped Hunter Class (8,200t). There needs to be far more vocal and persistent calling out of what is occurring with Hunter.

How to build an Aegis destroyer in one minute.. Magnificent, isn't it? The shipyard was modified for her massive low frequency hull mounted sonar. The large section for dedicated VDS is also interesting. Cooperation with the United States and two major Korean shipbuilding

Military #Bridging systems are essential for the mobility of heavy armoured formations. Operations in #UkraineRussiaWar are limited without them. @NATO in enhancing capabilities but gaps remain. Standardisation and interoperability are key. https://t.co/v6jKxbAj6L @JanesINTEL

Can understand why #Sweden felt that Tempest/GCAP wasn't for it - you'd need all four lanes of the M25 to do roadway operations with this beast (slight exaggeration, but you get my point)!

At the 1:1 scale model of the #GCAP at the @BAESystemsAir stand at @FIAFarnborough, and previous descriptions of it being "massive" don't really do it justice. This beast is huge!! Think F-111, and you're in the ballpark... #FIA2024

A quick map showing the reach of JASSM vs JASSM-ER in East Asia: The original JASSM doesnt offer much stand off range nor maneuvering margin to avoid defensive sites. From Kadena it appears mostly innefective. Note this does not include IFR.
