Thanks to a complex mathematical algorithm, these plastic shapes follow a very specific route as they roll. In fact, researchers have shown that a shape can be designed to follow almost any path you can think of.

New paper accepted - we used a modified granular temperature to quantify the characteristics of hydrodynamic dead zone of sediment gravity flow formed in front of a rigid barrier and proposed a source-sink model to describe the unjamming-jamming transition on its formation.

Speedy match! @swayzhao proposed a scalable thread-clockwise RVE parallel computing scheme - GoDEM - to match multiscale modeling w/ GPUs. GoDEM modelled footing below w/ 7.68 million RVE particles in 33 mins, 91 times faster than parallel CPU computation. https://t.co/DcugIQNdSg
