They know such a bill would be struck down by the courts but if they are still going ahead then it means only one thing, they know that their chances are not that good in the upcoming assembly election.
Private CBSE schools teach Hindi. Will that be banned too? Banning would violate the constitutional rights protecting linguistic freedom and the country's multilingual framework. Legally not tenable.

Amtitpai was not the first case whre an undertrial contested election. IIRC Mann had contested election & won while being in jail during peak Punjab insurgency. Many others have also contested. Unless one is convicted, courts can't do much.
Amritpal should’ve been made a case study by the lordships but what they did has emboldened criminals.
