Marathon looks like a game that should have movement tech as a big part of the gameplay. It's strange that Marathon is designed with slower movement than Battlefield 6 has, a supposed "grounded" title. You'd think they'd be the opposite

I wonder if layoffs across Battlefield Studios are happening because Battlefield 6 is underperforming in microtransation revenue. The real goal was to pull in 5X game sales like Activision did with Warzone. It wasn't just to sell copies.

Here are my full thoughts about the season 2 movement changes in @Battlefield 6. I think the "clunkiness" right now stems from getting caught on clutter + micro terrain and the jagged movement on slopes. These areas really need addressing. https://t.co/R3E36M2d3e

Tried the new movement in @battlefield 6 today. I like that there isn't a boost with the slide anymore, but almost everything else feels worse. The game is still incredibly janky. You get caught on every bit of terrain and the vault animations still are not smooth and natural.

It looks like @Battlefield might have listened and fixed some of the season 2 skins. They're not perfect, but a lot better than what the leaks showed. I still want to see: - Gender/face options for every skin - Multicam NATO skins of real units - Better faction recognition

I was really hoping that with the 2 extra years to develop the next BF game that they would have addressed the engine, and maybe they did, but it seems to be the exact same as 2042s.

I would just hate for BF6 to just be just a better dressed version of 2042, considering the shaky foundation that the Frostbite engine they built the game on caused a lot of issue, such as the mouse/controller input bugs, bad vehicle play, and mushy feeling movement physics.

Some say a lot of those are "placeholder" assets, such as the heli physics, but I genuinely don't think there is enough time for DICE to fully re-do those important physics/gameplay systems. A few months to release is not enough time to do all of that.
