Teamwork isn’t just for people—it’s for immune cells too! When immune cells organize into tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) near the tumor boundary, they can predict response to immunotherapy in HNSCC.@svploeg @FadenLab .

Thanks, @ScienceMagazine, for the highlight of our recent work! . In partnership with @gmboland, our team developed a microfluidic platform to monitor viral load over time in COVID19 patients. We were able to find intact🦠in blood, stool and saliva. @MGH_RI @MGHCancerCenter.

At the VERY beginning of the Pandemic during a Family Sunday Zoom meet up (remember those??) my sister Shannon half-jokingly asked us how comfortable we would be if asked to submit a 💩 sample (in the name of science, of course). 1/2.

Excited to share this work, a reflection of many diverse fields coming together to see if we can find intact viral particles in complex bio fluids🩸💩💧. With a LOD of 3 #SARSCoV2 particles per ml, we were able to serially monitor viral load over time for patients. With @gmboland.

@druiztorres_ @FadenLab 3. We found dendritic cells treated with dual therapy (moto+niovo) to be uniquely activated when compared to nivolumab-only patients via scRNAseq. We confirmed this activation via high-plex imaging by finding enhanced spatial proximity between dendritic cells and T cells after tx.

(2) We used single-cell RNA sequencing paired with high-plex staining technology to profile the temporo-spatial changes in the tumor microenvironment after a TLR8 agonist (motolimod) and anti-PD-1 (nivolumab) therapy in head and neck cancer

OUT NOW in Frontiers in Immunology. What is the impact of motolimod and nivolumab in the tumor microenvironment (TME) of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma?. We used a phase 1b pre-operative window of opportunity clinical trial in HNSCC to ask.
