Reading my two different copies of Subcutanean side by side is so fun, some of the differences are really significant

Damn it you guys. Was going to save a bit of money to buy new shoes but alas 🤑💰💵 take my money 👇🏽
This may be the most unique novel I've heard of: Subcutanean, by @aaronareed, where no two copies are the same. https://t.co/atnOp5WX2F

Reading Subcutanean while listening to Metallica's "Sanitarium" is either perfect synergy or disconcertingly frightening, or (right now) both. This is freaky. The power of a gripping book paired with its fitting soundtrack is unsettling.

One last end-of-year best-of: I got @subcutanean on our list of 2020 sci-fi books to check out, because it is both an excellent horror novel and an interesting experiment in AI storytelling

Kat Mustatea, is awarded a Literature Grant for VOIDOPOLIS, a retelling of Dante’s Inferno. Created with words without the letter "E", the story unfolds on IG, a digital performance culminating in loss: once the story is complete, it will be deleted forever.

Peter on Goodreads says: "Subcutanean is not just smartly written but a fantastically fun read. ...It’s eerie, creepy, and drips existential dread. That you can get your own permutation of the novel feels clinical and calculated - a perfectly resonate and thematic touch." #horror

I finished reading Subcutanean this week! A queer horror story with one of the most interesting premises and executions I've ever read. I cannot recommend it enough, I haven't gone through a book this fast in a long time

Just finished Aaron Reed's "Subcutanean." It's one of those "whoops my house turns out to be an endless labryinth" horror stories, like House of Leaves, that I'm such a sucker for. It's really good!

I just want to say that my copy of subcutanean is Very Good, and your copy, while different, will likely also be Very Good. And then we can talk about the differences afterwards.

update: subcutanean is great, both in terms of (I think?) pretty clever procedural generation and just having a good handle on creepy suspense-building

My #ELOrlando talk is live! It's on all the headaches that @aaronareed's @subcutanean creates for traditional approaches to textual studies. Perversely, it is also an audio-only talk at an electronic lit conference! Have a listen here:

My 50 book challenge, book #37: "Subcutanean" by @aaronareed. Aaron Reed is one of the most lauded authors of interactive fiction, having written brilliant and influential pieces like "Blue Lacuna" and "Hollywood Visionary". But now he's here with a traditional novel! 1/4

This book needs more attention. I'm absolutely loving/terrified by my unique copy. @aaronareed created something truly special. Without spoiling it, it's a book that gives physical shape to this destabilized reality of ours, and many others. Can't stop thinking about it.

Just finished reading @aaronareed's Subcutanean, the novel where no two copies are the same. Tense, interesting, and very enjoyable! Planning to do a write-up... when I've read my *other* copy.
