Given the performance I get with the non-CLI OpenAI tools (o3-pro and o3), I'm sure it can perform well. The Codex ecosystem has been my bottleneck.

I find with Codex, which is awesome, it's difficult to control the shell environment. I encounter issues in the background.

I find Claude Code truly outperforms Gemini-CLI. The latter can perform well, but often gets stuck in odd loops or makes weird mistakes. However, both Claude Code and Gemini's CLI outperform Codex, which has been a pain.
