Much needed rainfall yesterday into last night across much of the region with highest amounts in places that needed it most. Fire danger has significantly dropped across much of the region.

Temperatures only in the low 20s today for much of the region. More beneficial rains expected later tomorrow into early Wed AM with risk of non-severe storms as well. Warming trend into late week with clearing & low humidity. 🙌.

Nothing new but smoky skies have returned to SON today with some mixing to the surface as well. Couple areas reporting AQI >150. This will likely continue into tomorrow. Can you smell the smoke this morning?

Already an outflow boundary ahead of storms moving into SON over Lake Huron but looks like some beneficial rains coming tonight to areas east of Lake Huron and perhaps even toward or E of the 400 corridor.

Fairly strong storms passing through parts of the GTA particularly north of the 401. They likely won’t sustain strength for much longer but very frequent lightning, strong winds, and torrential rain are expected with these for now.

Scattered thunderstorms have developed as expected this afternoon. Torrential rain and gusty winds are likely with most of these pop up storms. Watch for localized flooding with any training storms.

Severe risk is rather low with heavy rain being the main threat. Would also be concerned with any fire starts from lightning considering the drought conditions through the region especially if coverage is more isolated/scattered with limited widespread rainfall.

Still looking at thunderstorm risk Tues for much of SON with two different rounds; one likely during peak heating tomorrow afternoon with focus near/along lake breeze boundaries. Another round (possibly more widespread) Tues PM along a front but uncertainty exists on coverage.

Lake Ontario is cooking this summer. That onshore flow has dew point along water in Toronto at 24.0c with humidex over 40. Compare to Pearson where dew point is 18.8c at this hour. 🔥
