From the October 3, 1821, Rhode Island Republican Swann Lyman Pomroy, a Massachusetts native, is opening a sacred music school in Newport. Pomroy arrived in town in 1820 and stayed for a few years. He married Frances Maria Fales, of Taunton, Massachusetts, in Newport in 1824.

Jacob Frank was discharged in July of 1871 and taught music in Newport. He later taught music in Cincinnati, Ohio, until his death in 1926. He was returned to Newport and buried in the Island Cemetery. #music #history #army #RhodeIsland #newportri #nonprofit

Jacob Ludwig Frank died on October 2, 1926, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Frank enlisted in the Army at the age of 16, joining the 5th United States Artillery Regiment Band which was led by his father Ludwig Frank. The 5th U.S. Artillery Band arrived at Fort Adams on March 16, 1869.
