We always love the @WFSchoolSports X-Country. Over 400 children in the local area ran their socks off in a serious test of endurance! Well done to our Year 3 in qualifying as a ‘wildcard’ for the event later in the year at Temple Newsam #StGilesPE

Moving on through the ages from our trip to the castle last week, LKS2 had a tour of the Town Hall. We looked at the old magistrates court, discussed its use during the past in Pontefract & visited the holding cells underneath too - So many facts! Thank you @PontefractCivic 🧑‍⚖️

A great morning at Pontefract Castle for a workshop based on our Crime & Punishment topic. Linking to local history, Class 4 learnt about the Magna Carta, the local man who helped create this important document & a chance to feel like a prisoner in the dungeons. #StGilesHistory🏰

Today we made pizzas in the Ark 🍕 we had cheese and pepperoni 🧀 also broccoli 🥦 and pop corn 😋 what a combination of toppings! The children had fun making them and talking about the toppings. #stgilesark #communicationresource #pizza

@stgilesacademy Class 5 had a great visit today from a viking farmer who had time- travelled just to visit us. We looked at maps to see names given, to different places around Wakefield, by the Vikings. We moved on to look at artefacts and played a viking game. #stgileshistory
