Part 17 of Planning Act enacted which means from today the ‘Board’ is now officially .An Coimisiún Pleanála. Over almost 50 yrs ABP had its controversies but in my view, most staff did their best whilst so under resourced for such an essential service.Godspeed @ancoimisiun !

@cooper_m⁩ writing about ⁦@BarryAndrewsMEP⁩ writing about a housing finance idea from ⁦@greenparty_ie⁩. (It didn’t get as much attention as planning exemptions for back garden living) but I note the private investors don’t like it 👀

There’s our L14 local #Bray town bus up and running. I’m getting good feedback from users. It was a challenge but worthwhile objective we achieved to deliver better public transport across our towns & cities. I hope the new Govt will continue the work & investment in bus & rail

Interesting & honest appraisal of housing - the complexities, competing interests, cost v supply, renters v owners, landlords, political soundbites, interest rates, capacity and a little on climate at the end. ‘Is there light at the end of the tunnel? No’

Delighted to attend the launch of ⁦@McHughJoeTD⁩ book last night. One of the most decent and genuine I’ve met in political life. Looking forward to reading his Gaeilge learning journey as a newly appointed Minister.Bhí sé alright! .

Classifying as ‘strategic’ doesn’t confer advantage, SIDs still have to comply with planning regs, it just goes straight to ABP for similar but longer process. DAA can address invalidation reasons & reapply to FCC. Changing legislation would take longer.

Hi daa, I hear you’re in the market for a good planner 🧐 .Seriously, questions need to be asked of how they get it so wrong at daa for so long. An inbound micko due shortly with a ‘can the minister please just interfere in the planning process’.

An interesting and significant judgement I think, the concept was debated during committee stage of Planning and Development Act 2024. Judge accuses An Bord Pleanála of being ‘petrified’ of renewable energy projects | Business Post

@BTYSTE⁩ is full of young brilliant minds with #Climate ideas, inventing, researching how things work. Good piece on how short term politics works & often fails the long term stuff.…these are the issues the new government needs to deal with.

Consistent support, increased investment and expansion of our railway for regional, intercity & suburban services must be a transport priority for next government. Safe, reliable, frequent & affordable rail provides societal, economic, environmental & climate emissions benefits.
