So I thought I'd see how Springer publishing would feel about paying me to work for them. Turns out they'd rather I work for free... #scientificpublishingneedsanenema

Not sure who's still here, but anyway! We collected all the placebo controlled trials for non-surgical Rx on back pain together in a systematic review. It was pretty epic, and pretty sobering results-wise. Hope you like it. https://t.co/hiQO8q3lNe

What an amazing achievement and service to Physiotherapy practice and beyond.
In celebration of PEDroβs 25th birthday, it is a good time to reflect on its origins and the people behind it. Listen to this interview with Anne Moseley on the development of PEDro when she was awarded the #WCPT Mildred Elson Award 2019. https://t.co/MjAtOR3yNh

Finally, someone important has been brave enough to say it out loud π
Sample size calculation in RCTs is a hoax. Trialists consider feasibility & $$$ they are likely to get from funders & make up the numbers for their calculation accordingly. There is a better way that we continue to ignore. Instead we collude in the hoax.

Absolutely! We can move past the confusion and debate by posting the whole placebo concept into the dustbin of history. Chris Williams and I wrote about this idea a while ago https://t.co/txnqJ2c7rk
bjsm.bmj.com
Over the last 200β
years, the placebo effect has cast a large and persuasive shadow over the medical field. In that time it has been by turn; harmless charade, charlatan's ruse, therapeutic device,...
This weekend, Lorimer said that if we understand the elements that generate what people call a βplaceboβ response, placebo no longer exists.
