A thread of the mental gymnastics his supporters have used to defend @ZohranKMamdani cosplaying Black for college admission. Twitter is a wonderful place to collect and sort all of the garbage. Mr. Mamdani, you and your followers should be ashamed and you should apologize.

This is the unintentional consequence of Mamdani's theft. But lets skip over that because we don't like the (ironically) African American mayor anymore. America is hilarious.
@stephenhjohnson You know what this means it’s going to be a lot easier to get a political win from the Republicans to have that titled removed as our identifier. One step closer to full delineation.

The term African American, just like the term American Indian and the term Afrikaner, had a definition. It was the name of a descrete people. It wasn't a adjective, it was a noun. A proper noun to be precise. A proper noun that cannot contain an Indian Ugandan an Afrikaner and.
@stephenhjohnson @TheAtlantic It's theft for . checks notes. an African to check an African box? . And instead of being mad at the system you want to be mad at the African?.

Harshly worded, but direct.
@TheAtlantic Funny that people stealing someone else's struggle and disenfranchisement somehow makes the victim and their justice claim "absurd" versus making the thieves morally corrupt and larcenous. First, white women hijacked affirmative action & then "people of color." It was for ADOS.

It would indeed be a big, brave and bold step for the @NAACP to speak against African American erasure by Mamdani. Or is the article and @ZohranKMamdani both correct, and the term is for everyone?
@stephenhjohnson @RPCoalition @NAACP y'all have been quiet about the erasure of the African American race.

Good point @TheRevAl. It seems Mamdani does listen to you. Is Jesse's life work undone, without even an utterance?
@stephenhjohnson @RPCoalition What about you @TheRevAl are you going to address this or are you going to let it slide?.

I was hoping to hear from them. Jesse is with us. As his lifes work gets undone. Mamdani must apologize and set the record straight. @RPCoalition
@stephenhjohnson @RPCoalition would y'all like to step up and address this, or have you become just as obsolete as the racial category of African American?.

And there it is. #ripAfricanAmerican
Zohran Mamdani is African American, “just like Elon Musk is white, technically, but was born and raised in Africa. Can Elon claim to be black for the purposes of affirmative action on a college application? The answer now is YES. Rachel Dolezal was just ahead of her time.”.

Whe you've got me and John McWhorter saying the same thing. Sadly.
"A term that is meant to be descriptive but that can refer to Cedric the Entertainer, Trevor Noah, Elon Musk and Zohran Mamdani is a little silly," writes TPN member @JohnHMcWhorter about why the term "African American" should be let go.

It seems that delineation isnt jist a Black American issue.
@stephenhjohnson @CCEJ40 G mainly covers men now. The L thought the early movement was too males centric, so wanted their own identity and events, etc. Johnson was an openly proud black gay man and spoke about it repeatedly. I've given you the interviews. He has been appropriated by a mainly white.

You should understand that Ben's definition of "Common knowledge", that is what everyone knows that everyone else knows. Once narrative becomes common knowledge, it is difficult to prevent the outcome. It happened with the villification of immigrants. And its happening to.
The present immigration debate is the product of three events that changed common knowledge: the Shithole, the Sanctuary, and the Springfield Moments. Using our narrative-tracking technology, we can show you exactly what's driving public opinion on immigration. New on ET! 🧵
