Hojun was the second person (after @digital_denise) with whom I shared my decision to create @dfwasianhistory. His commitment to uplifting Asian American stories inspired me to preserve them. He is leaving the biggest shoes to fill. And a true legacy for us to continue building.
Shortly before the shooting, I had met @stephaniedrenka, local Asian American historian and advocate. In June 2022, I got to share her story of her finding inspiration, and her own story during her search for historical artifacts.
