MY FIRST OFFICIAL DROP! 🚨
Here it is: It's the first part of my pre-release prep list.
I'm going to start a group chat with all of the holders where I'll be working on ideas and sharing other fun stuff I've gathered in my experience.
@PopCrave
The choice of words is important here. I understand the sentiment behind it. The change that comes from becoming a parent is definitely life-altering and challenging. Using the word "ruin" is just not a choice I would make, especially after choosing to become a parent.
@ask_aubry
Having to make a list is a chore in itself. See something needs to be done, DO IT! I hate the idea of "make me a list" or "write down how you want it done." wtf? When you get trained at a job you take notes so you don't fuck up later, so take notes, and be proactive
@notcapnamerica
I love that patriarchy has made it so that women are not given complex storylines because we're seen as not evolved enough to be given that grace, and this man could not get past the vagina part...
@ask_aubry
Holy shit! It's like moms forget that these kids didn't choose to come into this world. We have them because we want to and take care of them because we made that choice. They owe nothing to us. Have breakfast with your kid and let him do whatever tf he wants.
Do you want to help me curate the Music NFT twitter spaces calendar? If so, please send a DM! This calendar is a tool for everyone so I welcome feedback or help!

There are people with tons of followers that have "music industry" in their bio or experience, but what does that mean? Here are my receipts from my past lives 🥰
@PopCrave
I just personally come from an era where artists got media training because they knew how it affected their bottom line. If an artist comes to their team and says "I'm gonna say shit that I know ruffles feathers today, but I wanna say it anyway" their team replies "I wanna keep
Since my flight is delayed, lemme do some thinking out in the open. Should ‘we,’the music web3 community, just do our own conference? I keep feeling like this square peg trying to fit this round hole at these things, something just doesn’t feel right.
Thought a lot about what happened at the DND call, and poured it out on mirror.
This won't have the intended effect unless men share it too, so to quote one of my fave bands
"This one is for the ladies, but fellas listen up!" - Tenacious D
GM Everyone! Guess who got awesome news in her inbox this morning? Thank you to
@NFT_NYC
for graciously granting me this invitation.
I am so excited to chat with you and meet you all IRL!
Happy to share that I’m joining the Artist Relations team at
@telliesite
! Incredibly proud of this team of innovators that are working to build tools supporting the new creator middle class. Here to support you all as much as I can. Thank you
@kimnortman
for the warm welcome 💕
I love music, and I love music artists, but I could never ask/demand them to continuously grow, I am happy watching my faves in 2k people venues. This is why we can’t think of artists as startups, because not all artists are meant to grow exponentially forever…
Why do I collect Music NFTs?
Because it allows artists I collect from to SEE me, and how long I've loved them.
I give my email address & follow them on social media. But none of those have the data to show them how long and how much I've supported.
Music NFTs do.
@isadorenoir
@blackboywrites
I would not be able to pull any of this shit on any of my kids. I don't know if this makes me a bad parent but as soon as I saw those tears I was ready to get down on my knees, hold him and explain it was just a silly joke but his crying and being scared is ok and the fact that
Music NFTs are here to return value to music. For more than 2 decade we've lost its tangibility and been reprogramed to believe that a song is worth fractions of pennies or nothing at all. No other art form suffered such a severe loss, it's about time we fix this!
@RollingStone
I think this builds a new model for post-breakup narratives, contrasting other ones we've seen in Latin Music this gives us enough closure without too much drama. In the age where there was a return of Bennifer, I'm actually not that mad at it.
@talkofthecharts
@AintGottaDollar
Yeah no way, he's not even in the top 200 of Spotify in the US. Those songs are doing 7 million streams weekly and this doesn't even have 2. That's just ONE streaming platform...
GM! Now that it's official, I am ecstatic to announce that I've joined the team at
@legatomusicxyz
. I truly believe that opening new monetization paths for artists will allow them to build a more sustainable cycle of creation and long lasting careers.
A blessing that web3 has given me is the ability to be fully myself, I am a professional & a mother who sometimes needs to have her kid in her lap on a panel. Thanks to
@BrawHaus
@ArtWithMeEvents
for being understanding and to my fellow panelists
@itsmichellelora
&
@cherylplease
Latines don't like to hear that there are inclusivity issues within the Latine community. We love to demand a seat at the table while claiming space that belongs to Indigenous/Afro-Latine people. Nury Martinez/Gil Cedillo should not be surprising, it's time to listen.
I want to make a playlist on
@soundxyz_
of drops that haven't sold out yet. Especially if you have under 20 mints! So send them over to my DMs, let's get cooking!
My thoughts on what is being branded as the new web360 deal: Artists being able to raise private capital is a great thing. We wouldn't have Bad Bunny today if it wasn't for that angel investor, and if Daniel Allen's model opens the door for more artists to do so, I'm for it!
My calendar just reminded me it's officially my birthday and I'm not gonna lie, this past week filled me with so much love and joy I feel my existence celebrated. Thank you all, for giving my life renewed purpose! 🥹
I'm gonna be honest, hosting and co-hosting spaces I have learned that some folks are just long-winded. These people tend to be of a certain privileged group, with this learning, I've made a mental parenting note to teach my children to edit themselves.
Twitter Spaces host, music industry vet and collector
@steph_guerrero
has deep ties in the latin music scene and is passionate about educating and onboarding more artists to web3
I'm DONE with these crazy gas fees, so I'm gonna start a weekly space to talk about Music NFTs on Tezos
@thegxuniverse
&
@yaxx_castillo
are you down to join me?
I want to thank you web3 fam for allowing me to do the job of a mother openly with you all. It was a part of me I hid, because colleagues would praise it but treat it as a weakness or use it to exclude me. You have made it something I’m proud of!
#HappyMothersDay
💐 GN rest up!
@redactedpride
@ask_aubry
Is it that different though? I mean I think layer of white icing in the middle does not reduce the chocolate flavor, especially if there is chocolate icing outside.
@ThePopTingz
Ok girl, this is what I would do, keep your masters. Make it an admin/label services deal, and try to negotiate your payment terms to net 90 and recoupable only marketing spends and staffing of up to 2-3 label folks during promo. Also all the plaques are non-recoupable.
Bad Bunny is Apple's artist of the year. Thousands of dollars have been spent researching as to WHY he is so successful, WHY people connect with him. Here's an industry secret: WE DON'T REALLY KNOW! 🧵
The problem with saying "you will make more money than streaming" You can make more money:
1) Touring
2) Selling merch
3) Getting a sync
4) As a work-for-hire
5) Becoming a brand ambassador
Making money is not unique to web3
Building robust fandom relationships is.
Lyrics are the underrated piece of metadata, but it is the source of so much social content. On IG Stories it almost doubled the use of music in one week. WEN GENERATIVE LYRIC NFTS?
I know I'm gonna get shit for this, but because the way we pay for music feels free, doesn't mean it is.
Payment is with our time (watching ads) or with an automatic monthly charge that we forget about.
Music is under-monetized, we've yet to figure out a system that works.
In 2023 let’s stop asking music artists about what’s the utility, buy Music NFTs because they are bops to show off your collection to your friend and move on
A non-exhaustive list of shit I also do while on spaces:
- breastfeed
- pump
- make lunch for my kid and/or me
- do laundry
- feed my kids
- take my older kid to the bathroom
- put my kid down to nap
- cry
- clean my kitchen/house
- pick up toys
- work out
- my PT
Does anyone remember when I was the target of misogyny and "influencers" came out waving the feminist flag and putting their arm around me? Where did all those people go? This is a reminder that some people just chase clout so they will only lift you as long as you serve them
I'm gonna be honest some of these weekly Music NFT newsletters are more and more out of touch as to what is going on in the ground and are just self-serving. 🙄 This makes me sad because we don't have many publications out there
Getting tired of getting links to check out "this cool podcast about Music NFTs" and it's just white dudes. 🫠Do not send me links that aren't diverse, there isn't one new thing that I've learned from these guys in months while inclusive spaces have taught me so much more.
Artists being disrespectful to the ppl that works(ed)with them is not new, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna tolerate that ish. To call people interns because you did not chat with them day to day screams ngmi vibes! The most successful artists love and respect everyone in the team
Lots of new followers thanks to
@pastelETH
’s thread.
Welcome!
Few things about me: worked for major labels, that is done for now. But I’m sharing what I learned with independent musicians.
I have strong opinions.
I’m a mom of two boys.
I play lots of Pokémon go.
I want to get a little honest and vulnerable for a bit. I've had a lot of time to do some reflecting out here. Because after everything that happened, a familiar feeling that I had while working corporate jobs started to creep in = I am alone, replaceable & nobody actually cares.
About me:
1)Curate this google cal you can add to yours with Music NFT spaces:
2) Host a weekly Spaces called
#TezosTunesday
(Tues @ 1 PM ET) about Music on Tezos
3) Lived through a lot of misogyny in the music industry🫠:
I want to live in a world where musicians should just be able to do music and not worry about anything else. Where they can hire out services (like accounting, mediation or template contracts) that they may need at a reasonable rate or for free. 🤔
Should we talk about how wagmi is not feeling very gmi recently? We've been preaching building in bear to prepare for the bull, but even the drip tap is slowly stopping. I feel the pain of everyone. I feel it very much myself. I understand people feeling tense and lashing out
@notcapnamerica
this is why I've revoked everyone's right to use me as their diversity friend/family person. Do not use me to fill your "I'm not racist, my ___"
I believe that music is under-monetized right now, that's why I thought about the lyrics idea. How many fans use lyrics to inspire tattoos? Musicians should be able to monetize their music in multiple formats, even breaking down their song into smaller pieces
I have been a punching bag PLENTY of times folks, I've got a pretty strong chin and can take it. Hope it illuminated some of y'all as to what garbage people are left at
@dreamsnevrdie
. That team not even in my same level, good luck to them in whatever their next scheme is!
Hear me out y'all, let's just call them: Records.
These are just special because they have timestamps and unique identifiers so they are Records with MORE records(metadata). I like the word Record and it won't turn anyone off because we can go back to say "I got that Record!"
I dropped some alpha on the history of music charting in
@jadynviolet
'sspace this morning, anyone interested in reading a piece if I were to write it all out?
Good morning folks! Been taking some steps in the back to take care of my mental health. Being a mom I often forget because everything else seems more important. Happy to be getting back to my usual routine, updating the calendar, writing a little more, videos coming soon!
