"Money is not infinite" Tories say re HS2. Let's not forget Stanley Johnson was only person in his road able to sell his London house to govt using HS2 scheme Paid £2.2m 2007, he sold at £4.4m 2016 All other neighbours were apparently refused an offer 🤔 Reference: newspaper

After a summer of wildfire and floods, and records broken here in the UK, yesterday's announcement is barely fathomable. Future generations will ask why, after these stark signs, the government would put this country’s global leadership on climate change into reverse. Fairness

English water companies can draw 480 Olympic swimming pools worth of water from Wales every day 💧🏊♀️ Thames Water alone paid £200m+ dividends in 5 years Our natural resources should benefit communities, not profiteers

Water privatisation has failed. Water firms have racked up £53bn debt since 1989 & paid £72bn in shareholder dividends, while bills have soared & sewage is pumped into rivers & seas. Time to prioritise public need & environmental protection over private profit. Me on #r4today 👇

I fod yn wirioneddol gynhwysol nid yn unig y dylai Cymru gyfan gael mynediad i wersi Cymraeg, ond dylem i gyd hefyd fod yn dysgu BSL ar gyfer y 575,500 o bobl fyddar a thrwm eu clyw yng Nghymru.

This is an educational service I assumed my civilised country provided for free as an obvious & just necessity & civil right. Lazily I did not pay sufficient attention & take into account the mindset of the country I was born into. My bad. #Ableism #UK

If it takes one individual to change things @RoseAylingEllis call for free BSL training for parents of Deaf children is so important. Id go further and say the everyone should have access to this language. It’s shameful that we don’t all have basic BSL.

I loved Glenda, as an actor, as a politician, as a person.
We are deeply saddened to learn that award-winning actress and former MP Glenda Jackson has died at the age of 87. Jackson became an international star in the 1970s and most recently won a BAFTA for her role in Elizabeth is Missing in 2020.
