Amazing how even today Western media is totally disconnected from China. This story is quite amazing and has gone viral in China but pretty hard to see any coverage in the West. https://t.co/vhasCX1S94

中国公共的东西,实在不容易保存。如果当局者是外行,他便将东西糟完,倘是内行,他便将东西偷完。而其实也并不单是对于书籍或古董 https://t.co/6nBCAtO2t9

Came across a great quote by Lu Xun today: "Public things in China are really not easy to preserve. If the authorities are laymen, they will ruin the things; if they are experts, they will steal the things. And in fact, it is not only about books or antiques."

Basically all formal education above 12 is a waste of time and exists only as a form of babysitting or to reduce unemployment figures.

I see Trump essentially like I see Covid. A terrible plague that is like a nightmare when it's here, but once it is gone will be quickly forgotten. At least that's what I hope.

The whole censorship debate between EU & US is essentially the narcissm of small differences. Go and live in a police state and you will actually know what censorship is. People in the West just don't really understand because they've never swam in that particular sea.

It's increasingly clear that when certain people talk about 'sovereignty' these days they mean the ability and the desire to shit on other usually less powerful countries.

The amount of anti-EU slop here is truly impressive these days. Great to see how 'free speech' really works. At the very least it's made me more pro-EU than ever.

The whole problem of existence can be simply summed up as follows: put every event in the universe in an equation then add an equals sign then ask yourself what the 'sum' amounts to. Nihlists say 0, Realists say 1, Idealists say something above 1 and so on.

Crazy prediction for next UK election: Labour all time low in the polls says if they win the election they will hold referendum on rejoining the EU and go on to win overwhelming victory.

Simply an observation and not at all a criticism, but what does it say about things if China is pulling ahead when almost its entire leadership is composed of men? Like all politburo members and provincial leaders are men I believe. What does this say about leadership?
