We used the V2 versions during Op Sindoor.
One LSP ULPGM V2 used in Op Sindoor was recovered in Pakistan. - Other ULPGMs employed have succeeded. - Low cost, precise weapon under LSP being employed is still essentially testing. That we chose to test it on adversary airspace oozes confidence in the system imo. - Learning

A lesson for us too. Build out large volumes in AD & offensive power aka Rocket Force. This is why the air force is vital too. But things get tougher when the enemy has (better) eyes in the sky than you.

Buy 10,000 of these. Even if the whole thing costs 50 lacs, that is still 'only' ₹ 5000 Cr. 156 LCH cost ₹ 62,700Cr :).
It has day/night capability & 2-way data link to support post-launch target update. It has 3 modular warhead options: Anti-armour for armoured vehicles with Rolled Homogeneous Armour with Explosive Reactive Armour; Penetration-cum-Blast warhead, Pre-fragmentation warhead.

Anti-armour for use against RHA+ERA. A swarm of these could do the role attack helis could do against a squadron of tanks. This thing is fit for high-alt too btw. So even on the indo-tibetan border, these things can be an absolute menace for any armour or bunkers with pcb warhead.
NEWS: DRDO conducts successful flight-trials of Advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Launched Precision Guided Missile-V3 at the National Open Area Range (NOAR) test range in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The ULPGM-V3 is equipped with a high definition dual-channel seeker.

Even bloody grok understands numbers.
@cksh143 @sriramthg The analysis holds: India's 2025-26 defense capex is ~₹1.8 lakh crore ($21.6B). Procuring 54 Su-57s (~$2.2B at $40M/unit) plus 114 Rafales (~$28.5B at $250M/unit) would dominate multi-year budgets, straining funds and forcing cuts in naval programs like Project 75 Alpha SSNs.

Nobody in the establishment gets to make this particular point. Not after having delayed both programs in sanction, fund release and infrastructure.
@dotcom_1106 @sriramthg We need 2-4 squadron of 5gen for initial operation of SEAD/DEAD also 60-70 more 4.5gen fighter to maintain quantity+quality for 2.5 front. Mk2 will take time to get mature and Amca is too far.

If we buy 3 squadrons of Su-57 AND 114 Rafale, might as well shut MoD entirely in Delhi for a decade. Nothing else CAN be bought given the shrinking cap-ex space. No wonder 6 SSN got pared down to 2. At this rate we won't get any SSKs either.
IAF looking to acquire 2-3 fifth gen squadrons (36 - 60 jets) from foreign sources to strengthen capability until AMCA.- Made detailed presentation to govt outlining future requirements "for maintaining an edge over adversaries".- Empowered committee led by DefSec recommended
