A treat to be back in Oxford last week to speak to the Inklings Fellowship as part of their "Of Other Worlds" Conference in honor of the 75th Anniversary of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. My keynote address was entitled "Prince Caspian: Keeping the Story Alive".

Arrived in Oxford this evening and got off the bus just as the Tom bell struck 6, and so just in time for Evensong at Christ's Church Cathedral. I'm here to give a plenary at the Inklings Fellowship Conference on Tuesday at St. Giles, looking forward to it. Do join us if you can.

Last month, I led a discussion on Lewis's sermon "Weight of Glory", some excellent questions and responses again from our attendees. We meet the second Monday of each month at 7pm the SC Lewis Center and would love you to join us. All are welcome, no Lewis knowledge needed!

The @SterlingCLife C.S. Lewis Center has held three reading groups so far. I led the first one in April with the most Eastery Lewis book I could think of, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and we welcomed readers aged 6-85, many of whom were reading it for the first time!.

I am delighted to announce the establishment of the brand new C.S. Lewis Center @SterlingCLife. My first semester at Sterling has been a whirlwind (or should I say tornado. ) but being appointed the Director of the Lewis Center here has been beyond any of my wildest imaginings.

Think George MacDonald and Roland Barthes have nothing in common? Think again. Or, better yet, read my article which features ideas from students who, a little over a year ago, studied "The Light Princess" and "The Fantastic Imagination" with me.

Remembering and honoring those who gave everything today. Those who were not sent back, and those went back out and fought again. On Remembrance Day, in England, Binyon's poem is often quoted, and reminds us of a promise we must keep: "We will remember them." #MemorialDay

Got back from ICMS in time for my first commencement at Sterling College. After a wonderful ceremony and warm sunny celebrations outside Gleason, I hot-footed it across campus to present my paper for the Lewis and the Middle Ages session on Chivalry at Kzoo (this time virtually).

Very much looking forward to giving a plenary address at the Inklings Fellowship week in July. And yes, hoping to make the most of being back in Oxford and cram in some time at the Bod, catch up with friends, cycle those streets again, and maybe even fit in a punting trip too.

After spending a chunk of the night in the crawl space of my house in the midst of imminent-danger-to-life tornado warnings, I, for a moment, thought my old home town of Oxford had been hit too. Relieved to re-read the caption and find it to be otherwise.

In response to their own disquiet about AI and conversations we've had this semester, a student shared this with me. It also happens to have been written by one of my colleagues here at Sterling. If you didn't read it when it first came out, do yourself a favor and read it now.

Slightly belated for Shakespeare's birth-death-day and early for C.S. Lewis's but nonetheless delighted to share that my latest article is now out. And it's my (and indeed the) most extensive treatment of Lewis and Shakespeare to date. I hope you enjoy it.

Had a great time this morning @CCSCougarsKS giving a guest lecture on Lewis' "The Weight of Glory". Fantastic ideas from the seniors about what people might say the highest virtue is today and what it means that there are no ordinary people (ourselves and our neighbors included).
