I'm not a scientist and I have no training in these fields, but I'm now helped by new tools and AI. Obviously, my concerns may be wrong. But, I ask you "real" scientists, how do you guys defend this crap getting published, and *even when flagged*, not scramble to fix it? 🤯

This letter from @ElsevierConnect and the editors of @Cheme1972 was published more than 6 months ago. While claiming the investigation was near the end they and would retract all the crap, not much happened since. They did lose their IF though... Perhaps they don't care anymore?

The legendary Abhijit Dey from @presiuniv who once published 300 (!) papers in 1 year has published exactly 0 (!) papers in 2025 so far. He did get 8 retractions until now and just 1 a few days ago! But many more to come! #fraud sometimes just doesn't work out... 🤣😂

Dr. Abhijit Dey nearly publishes one paper per day, mostly reviews. Last year he published ~300 papers. All papers have authors from middle east, south asia, brazil and spain. @MicrobiomDigest @Thatsregrettab1. Most likely this is a case of @author_for_sale

I have been reviewing manuscripts for @MDPIOpenAccess (molecules and pharmaceutics) and TBH the quality of papers is very low. The authors are disrespectful in the rebuttals, and when I push too much for a 2 or 3 revisions, the editorial team asks me to be "supportive." 😡

My pet peeve? “Researchers” that can’t keep track of clinical trial data or remember what the protocols are. Retractions should be the least of the outcomes for her dubious ethics.
