Oh yeah, I guess it was pretty casual, easy when you find someone this perfect for you I guess. I love you and want to hold and take care of you the rest of our lives.
The whole "glitches in Speedruns suck" or "actually play the game" has been talked to death. However, for anyone out there with this mindset, you should.........try it sometime. The dopamine rush of clipping out of bounds or flying through the air can be quite eye opening.
Legit may have just experienced the best GDQ ever. Vibes were off the chart, so much fun to be had on and off the stage with so many incredible moments. We are SO back baby.
#AGDQ2024
Bruh. It's 2023, can we get Toxicity and Gate-Keepy Shit out of speedrunning? We're out here playing video games, it's not worth trying to put down others for playing your game.
One of the greatest moments in life is when you meet someone, and after the initial "god, s/he's hot and I love being with them physically" is finding that emotional connection you two have through something artistic, a movie or something, and realize you want so much more.
Back in August,
@nukkulareaction
bought me this Donkey Kong shirt....but it didn't fit. my goal was to lose enough weight to fit into it by the start of AGDQ2020.
#agdq2020
is about to kick off! Catch me and my Donkey Kong shirt for the pre-show NOW at !!!!
GDQ viewer hack. If there is a game you've NEVER heard of on the stream, that probably means it's sick af. Love the work by the games committee to sift through literally thousands of submissions to find games like Pumpkin Jack, this run is in fact, sick af
#AGDQ2022
Hey, you are all awesome. The fact that I can call myself an entertainer, my dream, and bring a smile to so many faces is a gift you've given me that I can truly never return. Thank you for all your love.
Alright, new GDQ idea, this would be sick AND hilarious. Once a runner hits the estimate, SLAM that power button. I'll donate my finger to the cause of hitting the power button.
@GrandPOOBear
could start stomping the ground for Mario block, dude it would be great, no downsides.
People need to remember that we are people behind your computer monitors. Keiz works his ass off as a gamer, entertainer, and just being a good person to his friends and those around him. Next time you think about putting someone down, think of what they do/did well.
This one hurt. I don't mind that I lost and was honestly rooting for Sky myself (she's sick!), but I hate that my legacy at GDQ is being the Animorphs guy who can't finish runs, or when I do it's forgettable because memes overtake the runs that do.
Gonna be sad for a while. ✌
@LudwigAhgren
Been Speedrunning for almost 20 years, one of the most recognized faces in Speedrunning, and I run every game (assuming there are only 50 games).
Yearly
@Blechyman
appreciation thread. Best commentator in the business. Insane appreciation for each speed game, tons of research and an amazing knack for vocal pacing and presenting each run in a digestable format for the audience.
#AGDQ2020
I don't care how many strats and consistent setups have been developed and found. What you all just watched was legendary. The fact that
@Mitchriz1
was able to perform so much of it near flawlessly while being literally blind to the world for 2 hours, ice water in his veins.
At the end of the day, there is no right or wrong way to do speedrun commentary. As long as the runner and the other commentators are cool with it, and you're abiding by the rules of the channel you're on, that's all that matters.
Just one of those days with never ending pain. Everywhere I look, people are hurt and angry, and I can't blame them and join them for all of it. Please every day think how you can spread love over hate, joy over sadness, protection over taking advantage of those who love you.
Honestly, 48 hours into the marathon, massive shoutouts to the production team this SGDQ. First marathon back in person, a hybrid event involving many online runs, and even having to stretch for a few incentives, and they are ON schedule, like to the minute. Good event so far.
Soooooooooooo, I may be HELLA dumb, but I'm starting SNESMania today. Playing through All 718 North American released Super Nintendo games in release order.
I was told I got a lot of shit today for my ZOOTR Routing in the Finals. I have thick skin and don't care. But this goes out to all the people who showcase their skills under the spotlight that you have earned the showcase of: You're in there, and they are not :)
Really couldn't have been happier with those GDQ runs. Tropical Freeze and ZOOTR we're both so much fun and it's always great to hear close friends donating to a great cause with such nice things to say about me, my couches and
@nukkuler
. Thank you all for making this SGDQ sick!
For the first time in 3 years, I got a speedgame goal: Sub-3:20 in SMO Darker Side! Felt overall really solid about the run, a dozen or so notable mistakes, but this one is going on the shelf for doing a bunch of incentives and starting FF9 Sub-7:30 Attempts!
I feel I've become a bad entertainer the last few months of streaming. Just really haven't been there mentally for a while. After MOMAM is done I'll be taking a 3 or 4 day break just to recharge my battery. Thanks for all the endless support everyone.
Holy Buckets, I'm so so so so happy with how well that showcase went. Felt great about how
@J_Hobz
and I routed it (besides Pooh, I'm sorry my dude),
@ViolinGamer
and
@RoseCurel
also put on a Legendary showing, and we raised 135K during our run? Man, that's cool.
#AGDQ2022
Dearest Pooh Bear, I humbly apologize for the misguided and completely baseless claims that you are “not yeeted.” After minutes of reflection I’ve come to realize that you are an amazing Bear and I’m truly sorry for my attitude for the last 7 years. (1/I'm sorry)
Unbelievably excited to announce Speedrun Colosseum, the next great Speedrun Charity Event, set to be live on my channel September 23rd through the 25th, all in support of
@DirectRelief
!
Two different times today, had someone come in and comment on my appearance, once as "you don't look good" and 2nd as "Damn, Spike is looking Old". Like, I have tough skin, but there are so many people suffering from depression, and you've justified it in your brain that was ok?
This week was just absolutely incredible. So much fun everyday, countless amount of lovely individuals that I got to meet/spend more time with and celebrating 10 years of GDQ magic. Thank you, all of you, you're beautiful people and make me smile way too much.
#AGDQ2020
The importance of today is to have the conversation. The spark that can light the fire for change. Whether you can take
#ADayOffTwitch
or not, think about how you can support those that deal with hatred all the time on and off this platform. I pray for days filled with love.
Late night drunk thoughts, but I super miss my nieces. I just want to hold them and protect them all the goddamn time. Thanks for loving your uncle girls
Let it be known, if you're playing an RPG, and you set sail on a boat, there is a 90+% chance you will be attacked by a Kraken, Ghosts, or a Ghost Kraken.
Ah yes, the twice a year moment in time where glitches/tricks are patched out of a new speedgame, and thousands of people who don't watch/understand speedrunning come on twitter to say: "Good".
My heart goes out to everyone dealing with the drama and all it's hatred in the SMO community. I'm not here to bash anyone but rather to just give a little love and say no one deserves that sort of hate for a silly gaming thing we organize. Be strong my friends.
Honestly, looking back, pretty happy with getting a 1:25 live. Big shoutouts to Kruncha and Goldfish KILLING it though. Thanks for having so much fun with us guys and rapping some DK with us!
#AGDQ2019
For the innocent lives taken, and the inequalities so many of our brothers and sisters live with. I cry for you and feel intense anger tonight. I love you all.
#BlackLivesMatter
Everyone make sure to donate for all the incentives involved in the KH run tomorrow. This includes the lv.1 Sephiroth fight, Oathkeeper glitch showcase, and your choice of 3 disney songs. Let's make it a full showcase!
#SGDQ2018
The whole discussion on competitive speedrunning is endlessly fascinating and also exhausting. At the end of the day, you want to do it? Then fucking do it. Literally anything is met with criticism, and it's not your job to make everyone happy.
Having confidence in yourself is a power that can spread positivity to all others around you. Put a smile on someone's face today by believing in yourself.
Around the corner from AGDQ, let me know your favorite GDQ commentators (besides me, not making this an ego thing). Who makes runs even more exciting, entertains you with humor and a history lesson on the runs, and makes it crystal clear why what the runner is doing is amazing.
so you're telling me................Square put out a port of one of their most beloved games.....................and it's NOT good...................I would go find a Shocked Pikachu face for this tweet, but I don't want to put in more effort then Square did.
There are so many people who will carry that forever with them, and you justified asking that in my chat where I'm in the comfort of my own home playing video games? Fuck right off dude. That's a sad image of the world we live in.
I'm so freaking proud of
@nukkulareaction
. 18 months ago, she set out to become a full time streamer and has since been met with tons of success and a brimming community of positivity. One of the hardest workers I've ever met, always happy to see when that pays off.
So while I'm not looking to start a witch hunt, just letting my viewers know that due to the suspicion that my first round opponent was stream sniping me, I'll be moving on to round 2 winners of the ZOOTR tourney. Thank you to the tourney organizers for checking the tapes.
Everytime I ask people "who are some of your favorite speedrun commentators?" I never hear
@JKArgick
. That changes today, absolute legend. Perfect balance of fun, hype, informative and good pacing to know what to explain and when to explain it. All time great marathon run.
The final set of tracks was tough, but we did it gamers, we beat the first of 718 SNES games. Today was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to the future years of content with ya'll!
Announcing my new April event: Dashing Through Time, where I'll be playing tons of games I love, with a heavy focus on most every speedgame I've ever learned/dabbled in! shoutouts to
@K_Duffles
for this amazing artwork, check out the schedule here:
I am so unbelievably proud of my girl
@nukkulareaction
for how much she has already accomplished as a streamer. She is such a natural entertainer and has in a few months formed a wonderful stream community and positive culture. Proud to be her boyfriend.
Super grateful that the in-house audience was so damn good and loud during the pre-show and opening runs. As an actor, it's so nice to have a great, responsive crowd.
#AGDQ2018
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and the ability to know where the last go-mode item is in ZOOTR.
This weekend will feature not just Speedruns, but Randomizers, Challenge Runs and even some party game fun with one of the most stacked rosters of gamers and content creators I could have ever hoped for!
So I don't want to be too gross on Twitter or anything buuuuuuuuuuuuuut................................if you can fix my upload speeds (just let me have what I pay for), I'll blow you straight up. Bone. Dry. Not Kidding. All Fours. Swallow the Gravy. Pls Send Help.
Through all the late starts and tech nightmare, I'm so happy we got 117 people to put on BY FAR the biggest ZOOTR Multiworld of all time. Big shoutouts to everyone who organized this special event and and played this seed with over 26,000 checks, love you all!
I want to just shoutout my co-interviewers this GDQ. I love how everyone brings their own different energy to the table making for such fun varied interviews. Glad to be a mainstay in the GDQ schedule with those and our Daily recaps!
