@peterrhague Modern MREs aren't Michelin star meals but they're on par with canned goods. People are just using it for a 5GW social media win because it feeds the "US always evil" narrative.

If you are in a position to turn your nose up at military rations, you are by definition not starving. This stuff is just dense calories designed to be transported in large quantities in unrefrigerated cargo planes. It’s not supposed to be winning any Michelin Stars.

@spikesguides @peterrhague I've had MREs (never served but had relatives who did). They're really not bad at all.

@spikesguides @peterrhague They are not. Half of them are dog shitm the other half are ight. Everytime I went to the field I had to bring antacid tablets cuz I'd get heartburn so bad from the red sauce meals. Now the winter meals that are dehydrated those are actually pretty good

@spikesguides @peterrhague I go on MRE dates with my girlfriend sometimes. If you're hiking, they're far better than any Mountain House trash.

@spikesguides @peterrhague I'd take an American MRE over the IDF's "Manot Krav" any day of the week, this is unreal.

@spikesguides @peterrhague something tells me that it's not Palestinians that're complaining about the MRE's - for the same reasons that I can say with near certainty that the attack on the USS liberty very likely had nothing to do with the 'egyptians.'
