Its unthinkable to me that every region for some of GCPs products is down simultaneously. Does GCP even support HA products? Does that mean anything?. Can't imagine choosing GCP over AWS for any reason with situations like this.
How is this happening:. GCP major outage; Cloudflare major outage… at the same time!. Never seen this before. Their infra is fully independent AFAIK

@privy I don't post much about the programs we offer, but I think this one is really special, and for businesses that are serious about growth and developing a successful marketing plan, there's nothing else out there that will provide the same value.

Anyone at @Shopify or @ShopifyEng know what's up with the Oct 1 2024 API changelog? Our partners dashboard links me here, but it 404s.

@LaunchDarkly All in all, it was another very successful BFCM for the Privy engineering team and one that is built on a year of intentionally focusing on our craft and making an effort to engineer systems that are robust, maintainable, and scalable.

@LaunchDarkly This feature freeze was explicitly not a code freeze. Every engineer on our team, from the most junior to the most senior was still trusted to merge code to the main branch, deploy to production, and make changes as necessary.

@LaunchDarkly We instituted a “feature freeze” a little over a week before Thanksgiving. This meant we weren’t changing things on our customers as they were getting ready for the biggest weekend of their year and also that we had an opportunity to observe our systems and fix minor defects.

@LaunchDarkly Our team isn’t any bigger this year than it was last year at this point, but we saw 2x volume in SMS sending and 10% increase overall email sends, and 25% increase in the high-water mark for emails. We processed an average of over 100M jobs per day during the BFCM weekend.

@LaunchDarkly We have new internal tools because of this. We’ll continue to focus on building tools that help us keep our systems running for our customers. We carve out time after we ship features to focus intentionally on improving our tools and maintaining our systems.

@LaunchDarkly Every engineer shares in the on-call rotation. We all care about bugs that cause alarms and noise in our monitoring systems because we’re all responsible for carrying the pager at times. This has resulted in everyone spending time “tending the garden.”.
